The requirements for butterfly valve dampers in the exhaust system is an extremely demanding application. The exhaust gases from diesel engine or generator are cooled using sea water. This valve application requires the valve to be manufactured from corrosion resistant materials but also special welding processes and approvals certified by the relevant testing institutes.
